Link Whisper is $97 a year, and every tier has a credit allowance<\/h2>\n

Their pricing changed in 2026 and a lot of comparison articles — including at least one competitor’s — still quote the old figures. Here is what it costs today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The credit line is the part worth reading twice. Every tier includes a fixed AI credit allowance, and the pricing page links to separate AI Credit Plans<\/em> for topping up — while the same page’s comparison table against LinkBoss describes Link Whisper’s AI link suggestions as “unlimited, built-in”. Both statements sit on the same page. The likeliest reading is that the ordinary suggestions are unmetered and the AI-specific ones draw on credits, but we are not going to assert that on their behalf. Go and read the tier you are considering before you buy, and work out what 2,000 credits means for the size of your site.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A free tier that is not a demo<\/h2>\n

Most internal-linking plugins meet you through a stripped-down free version whose job is to make you upgrade. The JnK Linkweave<\/a> free build is not shaped that way. It has no site limit, and it includes the editor sidebar with ranked suggestions, unlimited<\/strong> auto-linking rules, inbound link counts, background indexing, and read-only orphan-page and broken-link reports.<\/p>\n

What it withholds is the destructive and bulk tooling — repairing broken links in bulk, changing URLs site-wide, exporting reports. That is a deliberate line: you can see every problem on your site for free, and you pay only to fix them at scale.<\/strong> Seeing how bad your orphan situation is should not cost $97.<\/p>\n

Linkweave ranks suggestions with BM25 and TF‑IDF<\/strong> similarity scoring — a well-understood information-retrieval technique that measures how topically related two documents are by the meaningful terms they share. It is implemented in plain PHP and it runs inside your own WordPress install.<\/p>\n

Two things follow from that, and only one of them is about privacy. The first is that a suggestion is explainable: the sidebar shows the matched terms, so when a client asks why you linked those two posts you have an answer. The second is that there is no meter<\/strong>, because there is no remote service doing work that someone has to pay for. You can accept ten suggestions this month or ten thousand and the price is the same.<\/p>\n

We should be precise rather than absolute here, because absolute privacy claims are usually false. There is exactly one way content leaves your server: Pro includes an optional bring-your-own-key<\/strong> LLM re-ranking mode. Switch it on, paste in your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, and candidate passages go to that provider while you pay them directly at their token rates. It is off by default, nothing depends on it, and the BM25 engine is what runs when it is off — including in the free build.<\/p>\n
