LicenseSpring's Business Starter costs in one month what LicensorPro Solo costs in a year. That is not a slight against them — running a hosted API with an uptime commitment genuinely costs money, and someone has to pay for it. But if you are a solo developer selling plugins, $2,388 a year for licence validation is a serious line item.
The gap holds all the way down the table. Their Business Starter covers three products for $199 a month; our Solo covers five for $199 a year. At the top, Business Plus is ten products for $9,000 a year against Studio's fifteen for $399.
The number that will actually bite is monthly requests. Business Starter allows 10,000. A WordPress plugin that phones home once a day per site burns that with about 330 active installs. A plugin checking twice a day hits it at 165.
So the price you are comparing is not $199 a month. It is $199 a month until you are moderately successful, and then it is $750. On your own server, a licence check is a database query and there is no meter.

You can call its API from a plugin, but LicenseSpring is built primarily for native and desktop software, with node-locking and SDKs for languages like C++, .NET and Java. WordPress update delivery is not a native feature.
