These solve different problems. Formidable Views takes Formidable entries and shows them to visitors: directories, calendars, maps, member portals. EntryVault takes entries from 17 form plugins and gives your team somewhere to work them: a Kanban board, owners, notes and replies. One faces outward, one faces inward.
Ask what happens to an entry after it arrives
If a submission is a record other people should see (a listing, an event, a member profile, a review) you need it on the front end with layouts, search and filters. That's Formidable Views, it is very capable, and EntryVault doesn't do it.
If a submission is work for someone on your side (an enquiry to qualify, an application to review, a lead to chase) you need stages, an owner, a note and a reply. That's EntryVault, and Views isn't built for it.

One form plugin, or several
Views reads Formidable entries, which is reasonable for a first-party feature. EntryVault reads Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms, Fluent Forms, Formidable, Forminator, Ninja Forms, WS Form, Everest Forms, SureForms, Trinity Forms, Jetpack Forms, MetForm, Kadence Forms, Otter Forms, Spectra Forms and Elementor Pro forms. On an older site with a contact form from one plugin and an application form from another, that's the difference between one inbox and several.
EntryVault works with Formidable Lite as well as Formidable Pro, because it listens for each new Formidable entry. So a site can run the free Formidable Lite and EntryVault Free and still have a proper pipeline.

How we compared. EntryVault rows were checked against the released 1.5.0 free and Pro builds; screenshots are from Pro 1.5.0 on WordPress 7.0.2 with demo data. Formidable rows come from their pricing tier table and Views feature page, read 17 September 2026. We did not install Formidable Pro. Where the table says Views lacks something, Formidable doesn't list it; the row marked not tested is one their pages don't settle.
They work together
A site can use both: EntryVault is where the team decides what to do with a submission, and Views is where an approved record gets published. The one thing to avoid is keeping the same status in two places by hand, so pick where the decision lives and let the other follow.
Choose Formidable Views if
Visitors need to see entries as a directory, calendar, map or member portal; people should edit their own records from the front end; or you're already building on Formidable Pro. It is one of the strongest display tools in WordPress.
Choose EntryVault if
Entries are work, not content. You want stages, owners, notes and replies; your site runs more than one form plugin; or you want to try the whole workflow free with the form plugin you already have.
What counts against us. EntryVault is not in the WordPress plugin directory at the moment: the listing is temporarily closed, pending a review. The free version is a direct download from us and updates itself from your dashboard. Its front-end table is basic next to Views.
