Like GravityView, Formidable Views is a display layer: it renders form entries on the front end as grids, tables, calendars and timelines. EntryVault is a management layer: a Kanban board where a team works through entries. If you are comparing them, it is worth being sure which of those you need.
Views turns submissions into browsable front-end output, with graphs, charts, landing pages and prebuilt app shortcuts for directories and real-estate listings. Formidable market it as a “$349 value” and bundle it from their Plus tier upward. If you are building an application on top of form data, it is one of the strongest tools in WordPress and we do not compete with it.
The constraint is the same one GravityView has: it reads the entries of one form plugin. That is entirely reasonable for a first-party feature. It just means the answer depends on how many form plugins your site actually runs.
That matters more than it sounds on an older site. Sites accumulate form plugins: Contact Form 7 from 2019 on the contact page, WPForms added for a landing page, Formidable brought in for an application form. Each keeps its entries in its own table with its own screen. A first-party views plugin can only ever see its own third of that.

One more detail from the same page, since it affects anyone taking money through a form: Formidable Basic carries a 3% transaction fee, and their own bullet says to upgrade to Business — $399 at renewal — to remove it. That is about the form plugin rather than Views, but it is part of the real cost of the stack.
Ask who reads the entry next. If the answer is a visitor, you want Views. If the answer is someone on your team who has to do something about it, you want a pipeline.
And if the answer is both — a public listing built from applications your team approves first — the two coexist happily, because EntryVault has a Formidable adapter and does not interfere with how Formidable stores its own entries.
Choose Formidable Views if
You are already on Formidable Forms at Plus or above, and your entries need to be published, browsed, filtered or edited by visitors. Nothing in EntryVault substitutes for that, and buying us instead would leave your actual problem unsolved.
Choose EntryVault if
Your site runs more than one form plugin, entries need working rather than publishing, you want stages and owners and replies, or you would rather not move to Formidable's $199 tier to get a features layer you only half need.
What counts against us. EntryVault's free build is not currently installable from the WordPress plugin directory — the listing is closed while an account matter is resolved. It is a direct download from us in the meantime. Formidable installs normally, and also has a free Lite build whose limits we have not verified and therefore will not describe.

On Business and above they state that Formidable does not charge transaction fees when you have a valid licence. EntryVault does not process payments at all, so this is about the form plugin rather than the entry manager.
