Comparison

Trinity Forms vs Fluent Forms

This is the hardest page in this comparison set to write honestly, because Fluent Forms has made most of the same decisions we have: a genuinely useful free build, every feature in every paid tier, no transaction fees, and a real lifetime licence. There is no villain here. There are two products that agree about how software should be sold and differ in the details.

Fluent Forms pricing taken from their own pricing page, checked August 2026. They are running a first-year discount, so both the list and current prices are shown.

Start with where they beat us, because they do

Fluent Forms ships around 65 input field types and 60+ third-party integrations. Trinity Forms has 31 field types and a narrower integration list. They claim more than 700,000 businesses; we are a fraction of that. Their free build is well enough regarded that reviewers on their own site say there is more in it than in other plugins' paid versions, and having used it, that is not marketing.

They are also cheaper than us at the top. Their Unlimited annual licence is $239 against our $299, and their Unlimited lifetime is $719 against our $1,199. If you run a lot of sites and want to buy once, Fluent Forms is the better financial decision and we are not going to construct a table that hides it.

15 daysis the payment grace period after a Trinity Forms licence expires — then forms revert to the free tier rather than switching off. It is the one behaviour we have not found in any rival, Fluent Forms included.

Where we actually differ: what happens on the bad day

Since the pricing philosophies match, the useful differences are behavioural rather than commercial.

Licence expiry. Trinity Forms gives a 15-day grace period in which existing Stripe and PayPal forms keep taking payments, and then reverts the form to its free tier rather than disabling it: the form still submits, notifications still send, entries still store. We built that specifically for sites the original developer no longer maintains, where a lapsed renewal should degrade quietly rather than break the contact page.

Per-form entry retention. Trinity Forms lets each form decide how long it keeps its own data. On a site that collects both newsletter signups and something more sensitive, one global retention setting is the wrong shape, and neither WPForms nor Gravity offers per-form control either.

Where the builder lives. Trinity Forms is block-native: new forms open in a drag-and-drop builder that works inside Gutenberg rather than in a separate interface beside it. That is a preference rather than a superiority claim — plenty of people would rather have a dedicated builder screen, and Fluent Forms' is a good one.

What Fluent Forms does that we do not

  • Around 65 input field types against our 31.
  • 60+ third-party integrations, a considerably wider catalogue than ours.
  • Deep Elementor and Oxygen page-builder integration.
  • Unlimited sites for $239 a year, or $719 once — cheaper than us at that tier.
  • An eight-month payment plan on the Unlimited lifetime licence.
  • 700,000+ businesses, with the maturity and third-party documentation that brings.
  • A free build that installs in one click today. Ours does not — see below.

What we do that Fluent Forms does not

  • Forms keep submitting after a licence lapses, with a 15-day payment grace period.
  • Per-form entry retention rules.
  • A free importer that brings your Gravity Forms forms, logic, notifications and entries across, with their original dates and after a dry run.
  • An entry workflow in the free build — unread, starred, spam and trash, search, bulk actions, private notes, an activity log, and editable entries.
  • A block-native builder inside Gutenberg.
  • Cheaper at one and five sites, in both the annual and lifetime models.
  • A 25-site tier at $189 a year, which their range does not cover.
  • Bundling with EntryVault and JnK Linkweave for roughly 20–25% off.

An honest recommendation

If you are choosing purely on capability and install base, choose Fluent Forms. It is more mature, it has more fields and more integrations, and its free tier is excellent. We would rather tell you that here than have you find it out after buying.

Choose us if one of the specific differences above is the thing you keep running into — the lapsed-licence behaviour on client sites, per-form retention, a 25-site portfolio, or the price at one and five sites. Those are narrow reasons, and narrow reasons are the honest kind.

Choose Fluent Forms if

You need fields or integrations we do not have, you run unlimited sites and want the cheaper licence, you build in Elementor or Oxygen, or you simply want the more established product with the bigger community. For a lot of people this is the right answer.

Choose Trinity Forms if

You maintain client sites where a missed renewal must not break a contact form, you need per-form data retention, you want a block-native builder, you are at one to twenty-five sites where our pricing wins, or you want to bundle forms with a CRM and an internal linking plugin.

The thing that counts against us, plainly. Trinity Forms' free build is not currently installable from the WordPress plugin directory — the listing is closed while an account matter is resolved, and we do not control that timeline. It is a direct download from us in the meantime. Fluent Forms has no such problem. On a page where we are already conceding most of the feature ground, it would be strange to hide this one.

Is Fluent Forms free version good?

It is one of the better free form builds in WordPress, and reviewers on their own site say it includes more than some competitors charge for. Trinity Forms also has a free tier covering the drag-and-drop builder, conditional logic, entry storage, CSV export, email notifications, spam protection and survey scoring, with no site limit.

Which is cheaper, Fluent Forms or Trinity Forms?

It depends on the tier. Trinity Forms is cheaper at one site, $49 against $63, and at five sites, $89 against $127, in both the annual and lifetime models. Does Fluent Forms charge transaction fees?

No. Fluent Forms includes every feature in every paid tier with no per-transaction charge, which is the same approach Trinity Forms takes. This is a point of agreement rather than difference, unlike WPForms and Formidable Forms, which both apply a 3% fee on some tiers.

What is the best Fluent Forms alternative?

Fluent Forms is a strong product and worth staying with for most people. Trinity Forms is the closer alternative if you need forms to keep working after a licence lapses, want per-form entry retention, prefer a block-native Gutenberg builder, or sit in the one to twenty-five site range where its pricing is lower.
