Trinity Forms vs Gravity Forms
Credit first: Gravity Forms' pricing page has no fake discount and no renewal jump. $59, $159, $259, and that is what you keep paying. The real differences are elsewhere: there is no free version, and much of what people buy a form plugin for sits in add-ons locked to the two higher licences.
The short version
Gravity Forms Basic ($59) is a solid core: conditional logic, multi-page forms, file uploads, calculations, save and continue, entry notes, and add-ons like Mailchimp and HubSpot. Stripe, PayPal and Zapier need Pro ($159, 3 sites). Signatures, surveys, quizzes, partial entries, user registration, coupons and webhooks need Elite ($259, unlimited sites).
Trinity Forms Pro has all of those on every tier from $29, and the free version already has conditional logic, multi-page forms, entry notes, surveys and quizzes. Gravity has the deeper ecosystem, Salesforce and Multisite, a 30-day refund window and a long reputation.

No free version, and a demo instead
Gravity Forms' FAQ answers “Do you have a trial version?” with no. They offer a hosted demo you sign up for, full documentation, and a 30-day refund window. That is a fair way to look at the builder, but it isn't the same as running it on your own site, with your theme and plugins, for as long as you like.
For an agency that's a non-issue: $59 is less than an hour of billed time. For someone building their own site who isn't sure yet what they need, Trinity Forms Free is a real way to find out, and it keeps working if you never upgrade.

At every site count we cost less. For 3 sites that take payments, Solo is $87 over three years against $477 for Gravity Pro. For unlimited sites with everything, our Agency plan is $297 over three years against $777 for Gravity Elite. Elite does include Multisite, which we don't support.
When your licence expires
With Trinity Forms Pro, Pro keeps working as normal for 30 days. After that you can't add new Pro fields, but forms keep the Pro fields they have, still submit and still send notifications. Payment forms keep taking payments with no time limit, so a late renewal doesn't cost a sale. Gravity Forms' pricing page doesn't describe what happens at expiry, so we won't guess.
How we compared. Trinity Forms rows were checked against the released 2.5.0 free and Pro builds; screenshots are from Pro 2.5.0 on WordPress 7.0.2 with demo data. Gravity Forms rows come from the add-on lists per licence on their pricing page, their features page, their refund policy and their developer docs, read on 17 September 2026. We did not install Gravity Forms. Rows marked not tested are ones their public pages don't settle.
Moving from Gravity Forms to Trinity Forms
This is the one move with a proper tool. Trinity Forms Free includes a Gravity Forms importer:
- Install Trinity Forms alongside Gravity Forms. Leave Gravity active while you import.
- Run a dry run first. It reports what will come across, including conditional logic and notifications, and what it will skip.
- Import. Forms and entries arrive, with entries keeping their original dates.
- Swap the shortcode or block on each page, send a test submission, then deactivate Gravity Forms. Add-on feeds such as Mailchimp or Stripe are set up again in Trinity Forms Pro.
Choose Gravity Forms if
You need Salesforce, Zoho CRM, Dropbox, Square or its third-party add-on marketplace; you need Multisite; or a client expects the industry-standard choice.
Choose Trinity Forms if
You want to try on your own site before paying; you take payments and don't want to reach $159 for Stripe or $259 for signatures and surveys; you want a lower price at any number of sites; or you'd rather buy a lifetime licence once.
What counts against us. Trinity Forms is not in the WordPress plugin directory at the moment: the listing is temporarily closed, pending a review. The free version is a direct download from us and updates itself from your dashboard. Our refund window is 14 days to Gravity's 30, and our add-ons are far younger than theirs.
