Comparison
Let us start by giving Gravity Forms the credit it deserves: their pricing page has no fake discount, no asterisk and no renewal trap. $59, $159, $259. In a category where almost everyone displays a permanent 50% sale, that is worth saying out loud before we disagree about anything.
Their pricing page lists three plans and none of them is free. There is no Lite build, no limited tier and no trial. To find out whether Gravity Forms suits the way you work, you buy it, and then you have thirty days to decide you were wrong.
For an agency that is a non-issue — $59 is less than an hour of billed time and the decision is made on reputation anyway. For someone building their own site, who is not sure yet whether they need a form builder or just a contact form, it is a real barrier, and it is the single biggest structural difference between the two products.
| Sites | Gravity Forms | Trinity Forms |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | None | $0, unlimited sites |
| 1 site | $59/yr | $49/yr |
| 3–5 sites | $159/yr | $89/yr |
| 25 sites | — | $189/yr |
| Unlimited | $259/yr | $299/yr |
So the price argument is narrower than it looks. We are cheaper at one site and much cheaper in the middle, where their jump from $59 to $159 for three sites is steep. They are cheaper at the top. If you are an agency running fifty client sites and you do not need a free tier, Gravity Elite at $259 is genuinely good value and you should take it.
Gravity Forms' functionality is delivered as add-ons, and which add-ons you get depends on your licence. Stripe, Square, Zapier, Slack, Trello and Dropbox need Pro at $159. User Registration, Conversational Forms, Partial Entries, Polls, Signature and Survey need Elite at $259.
That is a reasonable way to build a business and it keeps the entry price low. It does mean the honest comparison for anyone taking card payments is Gravity Pro at $159 for three sites, not Basic at $59 — because Stripe is a Pro add-on. Trinity Forms includes Stripe and PayPal in every paid tier, starting at $49.
Gravity Forms is clear that an expired licence stops updates and support. Trinity Forms adds a specific guarantee that we have not found elsewhere in this category: after expiry you get a 15-day grace period in which existing Stripe and PayPal forms keep taking payments, and after that the form reverts to the free tier rather than switching off — it still submits, notifications still send, entries still store.
On a site you built for a client three years ago and no longer maintain, that is the difference between a quiet feature downgrade and a contact form that silently stops working.
Choose Gravity Forms if
You need its add-on ecosystem or Multisite support, you run many sites and want unlimited for $259, you are building for a client who expects an industry-standard choice, or you value a decade of stability over a lower price. It is the safe professional answer and it earned that.
Choose Trinity Forms if
You want to try before paying, you take payments and do not want to reach the $159 tier to get Stripe, you want the form to survive a lapsed licence, you need somewhere between five and twenty-five sites, or you would rather buy once with a lifetime licence.
Our free tier comes with an asterisk right now. Trinity Forms' free build is not currently installable from the WordPress plugin directory — the listing is closed while an account matter is resolved. It is a direct download from us in the meantime. That weakens the “you can try it” argument above and you should know it before deciding.

Gravity Forms Basic is $59 a year for one site, Pro is $159 a year for three sites and Elite is $259 a year for unlimited sites with priority support and WordPress Multisite. There is no introductory discount, so these are also the renewal prices. Checked August 2026.
Their pricing page lists no free tier. Gravity Forms is sold only as a paid licence starting at $59 a year, so the only way to evaluate it is to buy it and rely on the refund period. Trinity Forms has a free tier that includes the drag-and-drop builder, conditional logic, entry storage, CSV export and survey scoring.
The Stripe add-on requires the Pro licence at $159 a year. Square, Zapier, Slack, Trello and Dropbox are also Pro add-ons, while User Registration, Conversational Forms, Partial Entries, Polls, Signature and Survey require Elite at $259. Trinity Forms includes Stripe and PayPal in every paid tier from $49.
It depends what you need. Trinity Forms is the closer match if you want a free tier, payments at the entry price and a lifetime option, starting at $49 a year. WPForms has a much larger integration catalogue. Fluent Forms is well regarded and also offers lifetime licences. Formidable Forms is the strongest option for front-end data views.
Trinity Forms is cheaper at one site, $49 against $59, and considerably cheaper in the middle, $89 for five sites against $159 for three. Gravity Forms is cheaper for unlimited sites at $259 against our $299. Trinity Forms also has a free tier and a lifetime option, which Gravity Forms does not.
An expired Gravity Forms licence ends updates and support. Trinity Forms adds a 15-day grace period during which existing Stripe and PayPal forms keep taking payments, after which the form reverts to the free tier rather than stopping: it still submits, notifications still send and entries still store.
